  • The Hour is RA's monthly blend of documentaries, interviews and discussion. This month, Martha Pazienti Caidan travels to Pontins for the tenth edition of Bangface, a festival dedicated to the deranged edges of rave music. Thanks to its penchant for gabba and hardcore, Bangface can seem intimidating for the uninitiated, but behind the warp-speed tempos and extreme sounds lies a down-to-earth atmosphere that keeps devotees returning year on year. With RA's Hugh Taylor acting as guide, Pazienti Caidan introduces us to the colourful crowd and hare-brained humour that defines the festival. [01:15] Next up, we travel to Tate Modern in London for a live Tate Lates discussion exploring the potential impacts of Brexit on artists and the electronic music community at large. For an industry reliant on freedom of movement and cultural exchange, Brexit's implications have potentially wide-ranging effects on everyone from touring artists to promoters and record label owners. With so much still unknown, Gabriel Szatan asks Warp artist Mira Calix and Lobster Theremin's Rosy Morris for their perspectives on how their work could be affected following Britain's departure from the EU. [30:33] The RA Exchange is also available on Spotify. Producer / Martha Pazienti Caidan
