The Edinburgh duo will release their first album through Blackest Ever Black in April 2013.
Dalhous will release their first album under the name in April.
Though An Ambassador For Laing is only the second release by the Edinburgh-based pairing of Marc Dall and Alex Ander as Dalhous (after an EP last year), they've actually been working together since at least 2010. The duo formerly went by the name Young Hunting, whose 2011 EP on Blackest Ever Black—the same label which will release the debut Dalhous LP—was described by RA's Jordan Rothlein as "immersed in the same shroud of darkness as Demdike Stare, Andy Stott circa 2011 and their peers on Blackest Ever Black."
The new record will see them further emphasize the live instrument sounds they've recently been utilizing, including string instruments, keyboards and woodwinds, all heavily sampled and processed. It will be released on vinyl, CD and digital, with the latter two formats containing two extra tracks. The label has offered up a percussive first taster for the album with "The Physical Body, and has also uploaded a rather unsettling "trailer" which you can also see below.
