- The new album, which features Owen Pallett and Jessy Lanza, will come out on City Slang in October.
Caribou will drop a new album on October 6th.
Our Love is Canadian Dan Snaith's third LP as Caribou. The label City Slang describes it as a game-changer "formed around a mixture of digital pop production, hip-hop inspired beats, muted house basslines and a love of shuffling garage." They also say that it's Caribou's "most soulful record to date."
It sounds like a suitable follow-up to 2010's acclaimed Swim, which ended up claiming the top spot on our favourite albums of 2010 list. In the time since then, Snaith has been busy touring and promoting his other, more dance-oriented project Daphni. He released the JIAOLONG full-length and, more recently, a collaborative EP with violinist and songwriter Owen Pallett (who also appears on Our Love). The record will feature an appearance from rising Canadian singer and producer Jessy Lanza, whom we profiled last year. You can stream opener "Can't Do Without You" below.
Snaith will also be touring Europe comprehensively through the summer and fall, with Lanza on support for some dates.
