- The bald one will release a new album in June.
Moby is preparing to release Wait For Me, his ninth full-length studio album at the end of June.
Often outspoken and almost always divisive, the New York-based artist has come to be recognized as one of the most widely established figures in the world of electronic music. Wait For Me is being cited as a "more melodic, more mournful and more personal record," by the man himself, and was produced entirely in his home studio with a DIY approach. In addition, the album was reportedly mixed under the guidance of Sigur Rós, Throbbing Gristle, and M83 producer Ken Thomas using analogue equipment for that vintage sheen.
In a savvy marketing move, the debut track "Shot In The Back of the Head" is now available from www.moby.com and is accompanied by a suitably dark animated video from legendary director David Lynch. "David was talking about creativity," commented Moby on the collaboration. "And to paraphrase, about how creativity in and of itself, and without market pressures, is fine. It seems that too often creative output is judged by how well it accommodates the marketplace, how much market share it commands and how much money it generates."
