The new seaside venue launches with five back-to-back parties during Sonar.
The opening week of Barcelona's Ghoa Beach Club will kick off on June 17, just in time for this year's Sonar festival.
Amidst talk of possible sound restrictions and early closures for off-Sonar beach parties, Ghoa Club intends to "to make the best of it" with 2 outdoor areas, a powerful 60,000 watt sound system, and a swimming pool right in the centre of the club's grounds.
The opening week line-up shows a strong preference for techno and house, with five label showcases planned over four days. Thursday night's opening will be presented by Loco Dice and Martin Buttrich's Desolat imprint, with both artists scheduled to perform alongside Marco Carola, Davide Squillace and Guti. The following night will see Ghoa Club residents in the swimming pool area, while minimal heavyweights Ricardo Villalobos and Onur Özer represent Cocoon under the tent.
The weekend proper will herald earlier starts, with Cadenza's pool party commencing mid-afternoon on Saturday. Reboot will play live and go back-to-back with Cesar Merveille, joined by Robert Dietz and label head Luciano.
On Sunday afternoon, the Freude Am Tanzen pool party will feature Mathias Kaden, Daniel Stefanik and Marek Hemmann, until the Jena imprint passes the baton to Cecille Recordings, who will provide a punchy house soundtrack for Sunday night, courtesy of Nick Curly, Ray Okpara, and Markus Fix and Johnny D.
Individiual tickets and all-inclusive opening week passes for Ghoa Club are available exclusively on RA.
