- The electronic post-punk outfit are ready to release their first full-length.
The first album by London-based group Detachments is slated for release this fall on Thisisnotanexit.
Since their debut two years ago, Detachments have forged a post-punk inspired sound that's earned them comparisons to OMD, New Order and The Cure. But their music has a strong electronic side to it as well, giving the band considerable crossover appeal; RA's William Rauscher described the band's debut EP as "an immaculate marriage of groove-centered post-punk and early acidic Warp-style synth percolation." Their album was produced by Simian Mobile Disco's James Ford, and will be preceded by a single for the track "Holiday Romance," featuring remixes by Scottish duo Wrong Island and analog techno stalwart Andy Blake.
