- The New York house veteran has a new album in the pipeline.
Seasoned house producer Timmy Regisford will release a new album, In the Club, early next year on Tribe Records.
Regisford has been a stalwart of New York's house music scene for nearly 30 years. Though the bulk of his original productions came out in the last decade, he's been pumping out remixes since the early '80s, crafting club versions of soul and R&B tunes by the likes of Bobby Womack and Gladys Knight. He's long been a prominent industry figure as well, having done A&R work for MCA, Atlantic and and Motown Records among others. Most significantly for New York's house music scene, he co-founded The Shelter, one of the city's most famous bygone nightclubs.
In terms of style, Regisford is known for vocal-heavy house with soul, R&B and afrobeat influences, and At the Club is no exception. The record boasts 14 new tracks by Regisford, most of which feature appearances from frequent cohorts like Kenny Bobien, Arnold Jarvis and Femi Kuti plus a raft guest vocalists.
