- Verve is set to release the veteran turntablist's first album in five years.
DJ Shadow will release his next album, The Less You Know the Better, next month on Verve.
The new LP will be Shadow's first in five years, after his tepidly received hyphy experiment, The Outsider. Ever since his groundbreaking debut album, 1996's Entroducing, the LA-based artist has stayed on the move stylistically, always loathe to repeat himself from one record to the next. He keeps this up on The Less You Know The Better with 16 tracks that range from the instrumental hip-hop that made him famous to indie rock, pop and singer-songwriter material. In a recent interview with Pitchfork, he says he worked on the album consistently—"eight-plus hours a day at least five or six days a week"—since late 2009. Guest appearances come from Talib Kweli, Tom Ve and Swedish electronic-rockers Little Dragon.
