- The UK artist has a sample-heavy new album due out this month.
Leo Zero will release a new album called Very Repetitive later this month.
The veteran UK artist, real name Leo Elstob, has had his hand in a number of exploits over the years, from club nights like Soulsonic and Faith to bands like A Mountain of One and Chicane. But arguably his most famous skill is his knack for making edits, and this is what he gets up to on Very Repetitive. According to a press release, the sample-heavy album shows him using a raft of old school hardware—SP1200, MPC, Roland MV8000, a reel-to-reel tape player—as well as more contemporary devices like CDJ 2000s and Ableton to make original productions out of dozens of samples. Aside from a bootleg compilation of edits that came out last year, Very Repetitive will be his first solo LP. The album will come out on his boutique label, Leo Trax.
