- Eleven Ridims touches on the Swiss producer's dub reggae roots.
Dachshund will release his debut album, Eleven Riddims, this October on Highgrade Records.
Since 2006, the Swiss DJ and producer has been making what he calls "music for dogs," which most often means upbeat, club-oriented tech house. Eleven Ridims delves a bit deeper into his sound, going for a more melodic style and also touching on one of his earliest influences: Jamaican dub from the '70s and '80s. Without following a conventional dub techno blueprint, Dachshund weaves the feeling and atmosphere of dub into his productions, with some songs trading the 4/4 pulse for a slow, syncopated rhythm. Eleven Ridims will be available on CD and as a digital download.
