- The UK producer will release his debut album in October.
Daniel Avery has revealed details of his debut album, Drone Logic, due out on October 7th.
The London-based artist has risen to prominence in the past year with his highly-regarded DJ sets, known for their variety as well as Avery's penchant for reaching into the past to dig up forgotten gems. He was the subject of a feature here on RA last year, and his much buzzed-about skills behind the decks were backed up by an instalment in the FabricLive mix series, which RA's Stephane Girard described as "mark[ing] Avery's entry in the major leagues of dance music." That disc was heavy on his own productions that he's been releasing in a steady trickle since last year, mostly through Erol Alkan's Phantasy Sound label.
His debut LP will come through the same platform (co-released by Because Music) and follows recent remixes for Primal Scream and The Horrors. Drone Logic reportedly "manages to draw influences from beyond the dancefloor via My Bloody Valentine, NEU! and Chris Carter," while still retaining a beating techno heart according to the press release. The record features previously-released tracks like "Water Jump" and "Need Electric," along with a handful of new ones.
