- The Emptyset member will debut his folky new alias with an LP on Digitalis in September.
James Ginzburg will release his first album as Faint Wild Light on September 16th.
Ginzburg is one half of Emptyset, Bristol-based purveyors of noisy ambient techno, and he's also explored dance music under a number of guises (most notably 30Hz and Ginz). Faint Wild Light is a new solo endeavour meant to explore his interest in folk music, with the press release pointing to Simon & Garfunkel, Nick Drake and Crosby & Stills & Nash as stylistic signposts. No mere barebones affair, the record is described as "a 60s folk troubadour produced by a contemporary hip-hop producer" with instrumentals cobbled together from found sounds as well as guitars, pianos and strings. The LP will come through former Label of the Month Digitalis Recordings on both vinyl and digital.
You can watch a video for album opener "Debris" here or below, and you can also stream it at the label's SoundCloud page.
