- Ralph Cumbers has two new releases through his Magic + Dreams label this week.
Bass Clef has released two new cassettes through Magic + Dreams.
Prolific London-based sound artist Ralph Cumbers dropped both tapes this past weekend with little fanfare, and as usual for his imprint, they come in limited quantities. Fresh off the release of his Stenaline Metranil Solar Flare single for Punch Drunk is Acid Tracts, which Cumbers insists is an EP and not an album despite its 60-minute length. That release is limited to 94 copies. Each cassette has a different cover, a process that Cumbers says "took absolutely ages and [he] would have to be insane to go through it all again." The opener "Strings Of Death" is streaming here.
The second tape, Low Point X, comes under his "modular synth alter ego" Some Truths, and is reportedly the final cassette the alias will release before it moves on to vinyl releases next year. You can hear lead tune "Some Truths #37" here. You can order both tapes from the Magic + Dreams website, or grab digital copies from their relatively new BandCamp page.
