  • Bok Bok and Girl Unit will play a string of North American gigs starting at the end of June. The announcement comes as part of a larger world tour for Night Slugs co-founder Alex Sushon, AKA Bok Bok, in support of his new EP Your Charizmatic Self, which RA's Stephen Worthy called "21st century future funk." He'll be joined on several of the dates by his labelmate, who hasn't released anything lately but was behind some of Night Slugs' biggest hits like "Wut" and "Club Rez." The shows will begin on June 26th in Denver at Club Vinyl, for a label showcase that also features ballroom star MikeQ. From there, they'll head to New York for a Night Slugs sixth birthday party at 88 East Broadway, where Bok Bok's co-founder (now based in the Big Apple) L-Vis 1990 will join them, along with Mike Dunn and RP Boo. On Sunday, June 29th, they'll cross the border to Toronto for a World Pride gig at Smith Bar, before traveling back down to play Them Flavors' first birthday at Primary in Chicago (where local footwork producer DJ Earl is also billed). They'll make another Canadian stop in Vancouver at Shine on Friday, July 4th, Portland's Bubblin' party the night after, and finally, wrap things up in LA on the 6th, though details for that one hare still TBA. Check out "Da Foxtrot" from Your Charizmatic Self below.
Tickets for the New York shindig are available on RA.
