- Starting today, the dubstep OG will cross the pond for 12 dates.
Hatcha, widely acknowledged as one of dubstep's early pioneers, will tour North America through the first half of October.
The Croydon-based DJ and producer is probably best known for compiling and mixing Dubstep Allstars Volume 1, the first in a series of mixes that continue to define the genre. Most recently, he released his own Hatcha + Friends EP in January, a five-track sampling of collaborations with artists like Funtcase, Surge and Lost, for his own Sin City Recordings.
Hatcha will kick off the North American tour with a stop at Bar Lemagog in Southern Quebec on October 2nd, followed by Ottawa's Ritual Nightclub on the 3rd and Montreal's Theatre Sans Fils on the 4th. On the 5th he'll head to Austin to play Mad Classy at Barcelona, then it's off to Baltimore for a set at The 8x10 on the 7th. Next up is SF's Grime City party at F8 on the 9th, St. Louis' Ready Room on the 10th and Detroit's Datwotsup party at the Works on the 11th. On the 12th he'll hit the Dragon's Den in New Orleans, then wrap the tour with gigs at Air Conditioned Lounge in San Diego on the 13th, The Riot Room in Kansas City on the 15th and Cameo Gallery in Brooklyn on the 18th.
