- Shogun Audio will release the UK producer's long-awaited full-length in late November.
Rockwell's debut album, Obsolete Medium, will land on November 27th.
Thomas Green has been a staple of the Shogun Audio roster since he signed in 2010, with the promise of a full-length that never materialized. Over the course of EPs like Tripwire, DJ Friendly Unit Shifter and INeedU, Green established himself as a forward-thinking producer in drum & bass, putting out straightforward bangers alongside more experimental tracks.
Obsolete Medium explores all of Green's musical interests, from "drum & bass, hip-hop, house [to] cinematic soundscapes," according to the label. He collaborates with Sam Binga, Hyroglifics, Breakage and Phace on production, as well as vocalists Lauren L'Aimant and Jams.
"Being honest, I was struggling for the last few years by trying to write a certain type of music that I thought people were expecting of me, and consequently not making much progress," Green admits. "I took a conscious decision to let the tunes develop organically and not try to force their direction. What resulted is a very naturally constructed collection of music reflecting my wide range of influences—punk drum fills, techno basses, dusty white noise and neon synths—whilst not heavily mirroring anything too obviously specific, and eschewing many of the cliches of modern dance music production."
