A Raster-Noton showcase is also locked in for August 4th.
Details surrounding the opening concert for this year's Dekmantel Festival have been revealed.
It's due to take place on Thursday, August 4th—the night before the festival proper gets underway. The action takes place across four venues located around Amsterdam’s IJ river: Muziekgebouw, Bimhuis, EYE Film Institute and Tolhuistuin. Bands and live acts feature prominently, with Cabaret Voltaire and a rare performance from Brazilian jazz group Azymuth both locked in. James Holden and Tony Allen will both touch down with live bands, while Berlin-based experimental label Raster-Noton, currently celebrating 20 years of operation, sends along core artists Byetone, Kangding Ray and Grischa Lichtenberger for its showcase.
Other confirmed acts include Alessandro Cortini, Matias Aguayo & The Desdemonas, and duos Shackleton & Ernesto Tomasini (performing Devotional Songs) and Burnt Friedman & Jaki Liebezeit. Each concert venue will be accessible for free by ferry.
