- Parisian digger Victor Kiswell will inaugurate the 130-capacity venue tonight.
Macumba is throwing an opening party on Thursday, October 13th.
The new spot is located within the walls of Slow Club, a 1950s jazz venue that later turned into a club. It's been open under various names over the past few years before Walt Agency—a group behind several locations in Paris, including Le Comptoir Général—acquired it. It opened in June without any announcement, and has already welcomed the likes of Zaltan, Davjazz and Lord Funk during the summer.
On Thursday, October 13th, Macumba will host an official opening night, with record collector Victor Kiswell and Woody Braun, a member of the iconic French funk band Malka Family, on the bill. While its music policy leans towards groove, funk, disco, soul and hip-hop, the programming will showcase Parisian collectives and labels like Cracki Records, microqlima, Into The Deep Records and Around The World, which are all confirmed for the coming weeks.
