Sónar announces first acts for 2018

- LCD Soundsystem, Kode9 and Helena Hauff have been confirmed for the Barcelona festival's 25th edition.
- Sónar has revealed the first names for its 25th edition in 2018. 30 names have been announced for next year's event, which will run from June 14th through 16th in Barcelona. Gorillaz will play their first concert in Spain in more than five years, joining the likes of LCD Soundsystem, Laurent Garnier, Helena Hauff, Black Coffee, Ólafur Arnalds, Lorenzo Senni, Wiley, Diplo, Tony Humphries, Bonobo and Príncipe affiliate Nídia. There are also slots for Bicep, George FitzGerald and Richie Hawtin, who will all perform live. Kode9 is due to appear with well-regarded animator Koji Morimoto as part of an RBMA-hosted program based on the Diggin In The Carts project, which explores the sounds of early Japanese video game music. Earlier this month, Sónar announced it's celebrating the 25-year milestone with a series of extraterrestrial music broadcasts.
