  • Moog announces new limited edition Sirin synthesiser image
  • Moog is releasing a monophonic analogue synthesiser called Sirin. The limited edition piece is built from the sound source behind the Taurus Bass, a pedal-operated bass synth originally built back in the mid-'70s. Unlike the actual Taurus Bass, the Sirin can cover the usual octave range of a regular synthesiser. The two oscillators, which carry square and saw waveforms and also support hard sync, pass through a classic Moog four-pole ladder filter with the sound shaped later by a pair of ADSR envelopes and a LFO, which holds multiple waveshapes such as sample & hold, ramp and saw. Sirin can store 128 presets and Moog says there is "extensive hidden functionality" embedded in the synth. It's available now for €544. Moog's last new product was the no-expense-spared Moog One, their first new flagship polysynth in three decades. Watch a promo video of the Sirin.
