  • Finders Keepers Records has unearthed more unreleased material from Suzanne Ciani. The label's latest archival Ciani release consists of an unheard adaptation of Charles Baudelaire's Élévation, a section from the French poet's 1857 work, Flowers Of Evil. The label notes Ciani's adaptation of Baudelaire puts her in league with Olivier Messiaen, Karlheinz Stockhausen and Serge Gainsbourg, who also drew inspiration from the controversial French poet's work. But the closest analogue might be Ruth White's cult Baudelaire-inspired LP, Flowers Of Evil, recorded the year before Ciani's version in 1968. That record saw White creating dark soundscapes with a Moog, while Ciani, as usual, composed for Buchla. Finders Keepers released an unheard science fiction score from Ciani in 2017. The label also handled the defining compilation of Ciani's early works, Lixiviation, a set which preceded the modern interest in Ciani, her return to the live stage and a documentary on her life and music.
