  • Kieran Hebden, AKA Four Tet, has signed a new global publishing deal with industry giant Universal Music Group. The news was announced today via the publishing company, whose director of A&R Pete Simmons said in a statement, "Four Tet has soundtracked my life from GCSE revision to dance floors at university and now I get the pleasure to work with him. I'm honoured to represent a catalogue that means so much to not just me but the whole of UMPG." This latest move comes in the wake of an ongoing spat between Hebden and his former label Domino, whom he sued last year claiming that their digital royalty rates were outdated and unfair. In response, Domino took down three of Hebden's albums from streaming services. For his part, Hebden claimed it was a breach of contract and that the masters should be returned to him as a result. According to MusicWeek, following the new UPMG deal, the albums have returned to streaming, as a judge ruled that Hebden could go forward with his legal complaint about breach of contract.
