A new project from Circadian Rhythms brings together several DJs and independent labels for a VA LP and merchandise upcycling project.
For Communal, which is out today, November 21st, the London label asked ten other outlets to submit tracks from their back catalogues, which were then bootlegged by artists from the other participating labels.
The labels taking part are Never Sleep, SVBKVLT, Nyege Nyege Tapes, estoc, LuckyMe, Clouds, Sector 7 Sounds, TT and Bokeh Versions. Spanning 17 tracks, the compilation includes contributions from Clouds, Hyph11E, Jay Mitta, DJ Pitch, Osheyack, Gabber Eleganza and Circadian Rhythms' Last Japan.
The clothing part of Communal features a capsule collection of more than 100 garments. The items were made using unsold merchandise donated by the same labels. Helmed by Stone Island designer William Francis Green, the project is zero waste and aims to highlight the wasteful practices of the fashion industry.
The collection was officially unveiled at East London club Space 289 last Friday, November 18th. The event featured sets from Estoc, Boofy and others.
