- Aniara Recordings, the Swedish label most closely associated with Dorisburg and Genius of Time, trades in a style of house that's so airy, you can't quite square how their records manage to hit so hard. Their fifth release is only a departure so much as its featured artist, Auji, isn't from the far north but from the far east; a Tokyo born-and-bred former rock kid and art school student, he's very much on the same page, if even further up in the clouds than his Swedish cohorts.
Divided into two parts, "Conclusion Came to You" pits loose, playful bass against a cloud of dub so big, it never quite fades away. Even in part one, when the drums grow more intricate and hefty and Auji's atmospherics seem to take the hint to back off, they merely burrow into the rhythm section, manifesting in ultra-resonant hits. Part two adds a shiftier beat and some tough-to-parse pillow-talk, but the vibe doesn't change much. Dorisburg and label head Fabian Bruhn's Ariana remix takes a tougher approach, but only slightly: faster-paced and just a hair darker, it's the sound of nightfall in the stratosphere.
