- Sun-kissed house loops from the producer also known as Drums Of Death.
- "If you cut Austin Ato I believe he'll bleed an amazing record," said Me Me Me label boss Man Power, who apparently signed Ato—AKA Scotland's Colin Bailey, best known as electro/techno producer and Peaches collaborator Drums Of Death—and scheduled this EP within a day of hearing it. Fair play. The quality is undeniable, beginning with the jaunty, happy house of "He Can Ride," blending what sounds like a Romanthony sample (but is supposedly George Benson), arpeggiated keys and a ceaseless bounce.
"Dah Dah Dah" is more disco-leaning, with snippets of soulful vocals, lively percussion, sultry sax and classic house keys, while "Maelstrom," sounding not unlike a Man Power track, dips into '80s new wave with blobs of echoey synth and 808-style drum beats. "Ben's Groove" ends the EP with a delicious looped sample (George Benson's "Give Me The Night") with horns for added funk and, wisely, not much else. It rounds out a tidy package of three bombs and some choice moody glue in "Maelstrom."
